Our Story. Our Beliefs. What We Stand For.

A leader in a city setting

For more than 20 years, we have built digital learning platforms, produced extensive content and had the privilege of working with organisations including ManpowerGroup, Gartner, Volvo and AstraZeneca.

But longevity is not what defines us.

What defines us is what those years have taught us about leadership, learning and change — and the beliefs we have formed along the way.

We believe leadership matters more than ever.

We believe learning should change what people actually do.

We believe AI should create business value, not simply more activity.

And we believe organisations need the courage to challenge what no longer works.

01 / THE STARTING POINT

We recognise
the frustration.

For some time, we have listened to CIOs describe a growing frustration.

Established ways of working are delivering less, and organisations are reaching a point where this can no longer be ignored. At the same time, many have already started their AI journey — but the expected results are not always materialising.

There is activity, experimentation and investment, but not enough impact, momentum or business value.

This is our starting point.

The challenge is not simply to adopt AI. It is to rethink how organisations lead, operate and create value in a new reality.

02 / LEARNING

Learning
is changing.

Digitalisation changed how learning was delivered, but surprisingly little about how it worked.

We moved classrooms to screens and courses to platforms, while the basic logic remained: learn now, apply later.

AI changes that.

Learning can move closer to the moment it matters — the decision, the conversation, the trade-off, the next action.

That is not simply better digital learning.

It is a fundamentally different way to develop leaders.

03 / LEADERSHIP

AI leadership
is leadership.

Leading AI is not primarily about becoming a technology expert.

The qualities that make a leader effective in an AI journey are also the qualities that make a leader effective everywhere else:

Judgment. Direction. Prioritisation. Curiosity. Communication. Courage.

That creates a double value.

Improve the ability to lead the AI journey, and you do not only improve the journey.

You improve the leader.

AI is also exposing weaknesses in leadership that organisations could previously tolerate.

They are becoming harder to hide.

04 / AUTHORITY

Leadership is
becoming more valuable.

For a long time, expertise was a significant source of authority.

Leaders knew more and had access to information others did not.

AI is changing that equation.

Expertise is becoming more accessible. Information is abundant. Analysis is faster. Answers are easier to produce.

That does not make leaders less important.

It makes leadership more important.

The role shifts from knowing more to making better sense of what is known.

05 / COURAGE

Some things deserve
to be challenged.

We are not interested in rejecting the old simply because it is old.

Much of traditional leadership remains as relevant to the AI journey as ever.

But we are equally unwilling to protect a method simply because it is established, accepted or comfortable.

If it works, keep it.
If it does not, question it.

Progress requires the courage to challenge accepted truths, fashionable ideas and comfortable assumptions.

Sometimes that means challenging leadership practices.

Sometimes learning.

Sometimes AI hype.

And sometimes our customers.

Because just because everyone is doing something does not make it good strategy.

06 / VALUE

Value has to
travel further.

Our perspective has never stopped with our immediate customer.

Our customer has a customer — and sometimes another customer beyond them.

So we ask a more demanding question:

How does what we do help our customer create greater value for their customers?

Participation is not enough.

Engagement is not enough.

Inspiration is not enough.

Better leadership must eventually create better decisions, stronger execution and greater value for the people the organisation exists to serve.

Our customer value must become our customers’ customer value.

07 / PRACTICE

We practise what
we ask of others.

RETENZE is based in Stockholm and works globally.

We operate AI first.

For us, that is not a slogan. It is a principle.

We do not believe organisations can credibly lead an AI transformation while protecting every traditional way of working.

So we challenge our own work too.

Why is this done this way?
Does this step still need to exist?
Should a human do it?
Should AI do it?
Should it be done at all?

We use AI wherever it can improve thinking, analysis, creation, development and delivery.

Not because AI belongs everywhere.

But because leadership requires the willingness to reconsider how work gets done.

We expect that courage from our customers.

We demand it from ourselves.

08 / COMMUNITY

Do you share
our beliefs?

RETENZE is for leaders who believe AI is too important to delegate away.

For leaders who question old assumptions, care more about impact than activity and are prepared to make difficult choices.

For leaders who understand that transformation requires more than technology.

And who believe leadership is not becoming less important in an AI world.

It is becoming more important.

We want to be part of a community of leaders who are curious enough to rethink, disciplined enough to choose and courageous enough to act.

Because AI does not reduce the need for leadership.

It raises the standard for it.
